Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home (Learning Disabilities) – Herne Bay
COMPETITIVE SALARY PACKAGE

You will be Responsible for supporting the children and young people in all aspects of my clients care.

Your role is to provide direct care for children and young people, supporting them to achieve positive outcomes in all aspects of their lives

This post is hugely influential on the lives of vulnerable children who are in care.  Residential Support Workers will have a life changing impact on the quality of their life, safety and their outcomes. 

Brief job description;

To promote aspects of the children and young people’s identity, including spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

  • Promote structure, boundaries and domestic routines within the home.

  • Provide and participate in leisure activities in line with the care and placement plans of the young people.

  • Work consistently in partnership with colleagues and other professional to meet the social, emotional, educational, health and mental health needs of the children and young people.

  • Act as a positive role model, presenting yourself in a highly professional manner.

  • Support the educational attainment of children in your care, working effectively with education staff.

  • Complete and maintain administrative records as required by the organisation.

  • Undertake all mandatory training requirements and additional training and development tasks identified as required by your line manager.

  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, children and families.

  • Attend and participate in supervision, appraisal and staff meetings.

  • Follow Fire and Health and Safety Procedures at your place of work and report any unsafe practices and conditions to the Health and Safety Officer.

  • Carry out duties in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures.
