WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR / MANAGER
Worldwide leading manufacturer of commercial sweepers, scrubbers and cleaning equipment, are seeking a Workshop Supervisor or Manager for their Northampton repair & distribution centre.
PLANT, HGV, VEHICLE EXPERIENCE
Based Northampton
You will manage the day-to-day operation of the workshop where the repair & refurbishment of the company’s battery, diesel & gas driven hire & demonstration equipment is undertaken.
You will also Identify, develop and implement continuous improvements to workshop processes and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a team of 3-4 workshop engineers/technicians, ensuring productivity, quality & costs are monitored & achieved within the department. Additionally, become a product technical specialist for the company’s equipment including the latest AI & robotic cleaning machinery (training provided).
Workshop- Drive performance & improvement in the Department
- Promote and monitor a high quality of work and administration
- Provide technical support, identify and implement training requirements within the Workshop Team
- Carry out prep, repair and service work on equipment where required
- Manage parts inventory ensuring appropriate stock is available to maintain and repair the fleet
- Manage the workload of the Workshop Team for both reactive and planned work
- Robotic & AI Plant Equipment; work with other internal divisions to ensure information is shared, to develop & spot technical issues for the future success of the product range
- Be a point of contact for technical issues with Automated/Robotic machines located in the UK & Ireland
- Provide Technical Support to internal and external Customers in the UK & Ireland
- Provide Technical Support to the Field Service Team
- Provide feedback regarding potential training opportunities to RSMs
Candidate Experience- Previous supervisory, lead or management experience in a plant, engineering, HGV, vehicle or similar role
- Electrical/mechanical and hydraulic engineering experience
- Excellent customer service/communication skills
- Able to work on own initiative (self-motivated)
- Ability to organise and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Familiar with computerised reporting system
Remuneration & Hours- Monday to Friday 8-5
- Basic salary of circa £35k + Bonus to 8%
- 33 days holiday (25 +Bank Holidays)
