Waking Night Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home

Location: Near Folkestone
Hours: 40 hours per week (Full-Time, Permanent)
Salary: Competitive

Make a Difference While the World Sleeps

Are you looking for a meaningful night role where your presence truly matters? This is an opportunity to be part of something special—supporting children and young people during the hours they need reassurance, safety, and care the most.

We’re seeking a compassionate and dependable Waking Night Support Worker to join a well-established and highly regarded children’s residential home near Folkestone. The home provides a safe, nurturing, and homely environment for children and young people with learning disabilities, helping them feel secure and supported as they grow and thrive.

This organisation is known for genuinely valuing both the young people in its care and the people who care for them—offering a supportive culture, strong leadership, and real opportunities for development.

The Role

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining a calm, secure, and supportive environment throughout the night.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing attentive and reassuring overnight supervision
  • Creating a safe, structured, and peaceful atmosphere
  • Carrying out regular welfare checks and maintaining accurate records
  • Responding calmly and effectively to any incidents or needs
  • Following safeguarding, fire safety, and health & safety procedures at all times
  • Attending training, supervisions, and team meetings

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Caring, patient, and emotionally resilient
  • Calm under pressure with a proactive mindset
  • Passionate about supporting children and young people
  • Committed to delivering high standards of care and professionalism

Experience in a children’s residential setting is beneficial, but not essential—full training will be provided for the right person.

You’ll also need to be willing to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare if you don’t already hold this qualification.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive training and ongoing professional development
  • A supportive, inclusive team environment
  • Clear opportunities for career progression
  • The chance to make a genuine, lasting impact on young people’s lives

Please note: This employer does not offer visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
