This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a highly successful global business within the Heating and Hot Water and Renewable Technology Industry, the role will be field based in the UK and will require visits to our UK head office. As an integral part of the field management team, you will report to the UK Service Manager.
The Technical and Quality Manager will have the overall responsibility for ensuring we are up to date with all of the legal, regulatory and Health and Safety regulations and that all of our working practice and products conform to these requirements.
You will also be responsible for creating, designing and delivering technical training to all levels within the service network, this will include working with our marketing teams to understand where we can deliver improvements.
The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated and able to work autonomously for long periods of time, with the ability to identify key performance issues and put action plans in place to drive improvements. You will also be a technical expert across a range of products including new products introductions, ensuring quality control and reporting according to group processes.
This position has a number of direct reports who work on the technical helpline and the job holder will be responsible for ensuring that the technical help line operates effectively and gives an exceptional level of customer support.
Activities/Tasks Design, create and deliver training courses on boilers, renewables, water heaters and controls. Be responsible for creating the supporting materials for the relevant training courses and for the upkeep and presentation of the allocated training centre(s). The successful candidate will be working with our global technical colleagues to ensure new products are suitable for the UK market and providing robust technical feedback on all failures and early warnings of potential warranty related problems. Within this element you will be required to conduct working groups with all stakeholders in the UK to get the product feedback and concerns, again ensuring this is feedback through the appropriate channels.
Understand all aspects of the Gas and Electrical industry to ensure compliance with all governing bodies in the UK and Ireland that are pertinent to our industry. With that in mind you will set all of the working standards that are required to be adopted by everyone employed to work on our products or Sub – contractors working on behalf of the company. Work alongside the field sales managers and sales office providing technical information, support and assistance, including using the DTV (Training Vehicle) to highlighting product features and benefits. As part of this role you will be responsible for managing our overall Health and Safety, compliance and audit process for anyone working on behalf of the company. This will include defining, creating and rolling out the audit process and ensuring that it is effectively managed by the Regional Service Managers, highlighting areas on concerns that need to be addressed Support boiler sales through technical sales activity. Support the field sales team and merchants on equipment specification. Will be responsible for Managing the technical helpdesk, ensuring that they have the right technical support, knowledge, tools and training to be able to effectively deliver the business requirements. Identifying areas for improvements in resource, quality, training whilst also identifying and implement processes / system to reduce the traffic into the technical help lines.
